Mr. Potluri

Mr Bernard Potluri qualified with a MB BS in 1977. He then obtained masters in general surgery in 1981 and was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1989. Mr Potluri gained a diploma in urology from the Institute of Urology and University College, London in 1991.

Mr Potluri is fully registered with the General Medical council and is on the Specialist Register. He has been re-validated by the General Medical Council on 09/02/2018.

He is a member of several professional organisations including: British association of Urological Surgeons, European Association of Urology, and American Urological Association.

Mr Potluri has worked as a surgeon with the Ministry of Health for several years in Jamaica, West Indies. He obtained urological skills in India, Jamaica and further urology training in Scotland, as well as the Institute of Urology at the Middlesex Hospital, London. He has held a consultant post at Hairmyres and Monklands hospitals in Scotland during 1996-1997.

Mr Potluri was appointed to his present post with Princess Alexandra Hospital, Essex in 1997. He was the clinical lead for urology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow during 2013- 2015. His special interests include urological cancers- prostate cancer diagnosis and management, erectile dysfunction, one stop prostate assessment, one stop Haematuria assessment, No scalpel Vasectomy (NSV), Micro-surgical vasectomy reversal.

He enjoys teaching junior doctors, nurses and general practitioners. Since being appointed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the department has been recognised for specialist training in urology. Several of his trainees are presently working in various parts of UK as consultants.

Mr Potluri received awards for clinical excellence 4 times since 2001.
