FAQ
Insured & self-funding patients
We are recognised by most UK insurers and will be able to invoice them directly for the fees due to us. Before attending your appointment, you should contact your insurance company to ensure that you are covered for your treatment.
Please check with your insurance company the following questions:
- Is there an excess payable on your policy?
- Are there any monetary limits for your out- patient treatment?
- Cover for investigations: blood tests, scans etc. which will be invoiced by the hospital directly.
Please do not forget to bring your Insurance details to the out- patient appointment
- Insurance company name and scheme details
- Membership or policy number
- Any pre-authorisation or claim number
If you have an excess on your policy or your insurance company does not cover the full cost of your outpatient treatment, you will be invoiced directly for any shortfall.
If you require an inpatient procedure or operation, it is important that you contact your insurer to ensure that you are covered by your health insurance. We will provide you with the operation code to give to them.
If you have been provided with authorisation from your insurer, following your operation we will send the invoice directly to your insurance company. The hospital where you have your procedure and the anaesthetist will both bill direct to your insurer.
If you are not covered by insurance then you will receive an invoice from us, the hospital and the anaesthetist separately which need to be settled within 30 days of invoice date.
The cost of a new outpatient consultation will be in the region of £200 to £300, and a follow up consultation £120 to £180 (depending on the time spent, complexity and administration involved). Please note that this fee excludes any pathology, Radiology or other diagnostic procedures like ultrasound, flow test etc. that may be required.
If you are paying for your own treatment, then we may ask you to pay for any charges on the day of your appointment. Payments can be made by cheque, cash, debit or credit card. We currently accept MasterCard, Visa and Maestro cards.
If you require an inpatient procedure or operation, it is important that you are aware of the full costs involved – including Surgeon’s fees, anaesthetist’s fees, Hospital charges, pathology fees etc. We can offer a package price for common operations. This can vary depending on the hospital you choose.
The package price will be collected by the hospital prior to the procedure.
If there is no package for the procedure you require, you will receive an invoice from us, the hospital and the anaesthetist separately which need to be settled within 30 days of invoice date.
